Pre-fabricated orthosis suitable for embracing and supporting a body part of a human or animal comprising an articulation, said orthosis consisting of a pre- formed sheet of material comprising cork and a thermoplastic binder. Preferably said orthosis is uniformly perforated in its central part and consists of a mixture of cork and EVA. The present invention also relates to a method for manufacturing said orthosis.
