ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention relates to a fan heater having a stationary housing and a louvre blade assembly having at least one oscillating louvre blade located forwardly in the housing for providing multidirectional hot air flow from the heater. The heater further includes a drive system for the louvre blade assembly with the drive system itself including drive gears located rearwardly in the housing and a connecting shaft extending forwardly from the drive gears to the louvre blade assembly. Positioned between the louvre blade assembly and the drive gears are a heating element for providing the hot air and a fan blade for circulating the hot air which is operated from a motor also operating the drive gears. The fan blade is positioned to move the hot air forwardly from the heating element to the louvre blades and away from the drive gears and to move cooling air to the drive gears to prevent heat related damage thereto.
