OSCILLATOR SYSTEM FOR FISHING REEL ABSTRACT This invention comprehends an improved means for providing a reciprocating motion for the spool of the spinning style fishing reel. In the normal rewind mode of operation, the spool oscillates back and forth relative to the line winding means. This has been done by achieving a reciprocating motion derived from a pin that is mounted on a rotating gear. In the invention, the spool is oscillated by reciprocating motion of a yoke connected to a shaft mounting the spool and which coacts with a cam rotatable by the crank handle which also rotates the line retrieval structure. The use of a cam enables design variations in the oscillations of the spool with improved winding of line thereon.
