A delivery system is disclosed for delivering a fluid-sensitive beneficial agent such as a somatotropin, or an analogue or derivative thereof, to an animal such as a bovine. The delivery system comprises a wall that surrounds an internal compartment, said wall comprising a first wall section that limits the passage of fluid into the system and a second wall section that permits the passage of fluid into the system. The wall may further comprise an end cap which may include means for adapting the end cap for ultrasonic welding to the first wall section and means for maintaining the beneficial agent in contact with exit means. The compartment comprises a beneficial agent and an expandable means. The delivery system comprises exit means for delivering the beneficial agent to the animal. The exit means may include means for compensating for slight variations in the efflux rate of the beneficial agent and means for maintaining for a sufficient velocity or efflux rate of beneficial agent outward from the device while minimizing diffusion of fluids from the external environment back into the device.
L'invention se rapporte à un système d'apport d'un agent médicamenteux sensible aux fluides, tel que la somatotropine, ou un analogue ou dérivé de celle-ci, à un animal tel qu'un bovin. Ce système d'apport comprend une paroi entourant un compartiment interne et comportant une première partie de paroi limitant le passage des fluides dans le système, et une seconde partie de paroi permettant le passage des fluides. Cette paroi peut en outre comprendre un couvercle terminal éventuellement doté d'éléments lui permettant d'être soudé par ultrasons à la première partie de paroi, ainsi que d'un élément permettant de maintenir l'agent médicamenteux en contact avec un moyen d'évacuation. Le compartiment contient un agent médicamenteux et un élément expansible. Le système d'apport comprend un moyen d'évacuation permettant d'administrer l'agent à l'animal et comportant un élément qui compense les légères variations de débit de l'agent, ainsi qu'un élément qui permet de maintenir une vitesse ou un débit suffisant de l'agent hors du dispositif tout en minimisant la diffusion en retour des fluides provenant de l'environnement externe à l'intérieur du dispositif.
