ABSTRACT An ostomy bag, having an aperture in one bag wall for passage of the stoma, and a flat flange also hav- ing an aperture, the flange being permanently affixed to the bag around the periphery of the bag aperture whereby the two apertures align to form an opening through which the stoma can protrude. A coupling member, which is a cy- lindrical rib, extends substantially perpendicularly from the flange and outwardly from the bag wall. The rib includes a thin resilient deflectible seal strip extending at an angle radially inward from an inner surface of the rib. The bag is useful in that it can be securely coupled to an ad- hesive pad or dressing on the body.
