Over-pressure nozzle for handling web-shaped material Abstract The invention provides an over-pressure nozzle for handling a web comprising: a nozzle box; two opposing nozzle slots located in an upper part of a compartment bounded by inner walls and an outer wall of the nozzle box, said nozzle slots being so located in relation to a nozzle carrying surface as to form gas jets which, without separating, follow the nozzle carrying surface, said nozzle carrying surface being so curved that a recess functioning as a tranquilization zone, is formed between the nozzle slots, in which tranquilization zone the gas jets flowing to opposite directions meet to form an air cushion which extends over a considerable distance in the web direction and carries the web.
