An overload prevention device (60) of a snow-removing machine which can distinguish between momentary overloading occurring when an auger (23) has hit a curbstone or the like and continuous overloading caused by the auger biting into snow or debris. When overloading arises in the auger, a slide washer (45) provided adjacent to a side face of a worm wheel (38) moving away from the side face is detected by a washer detector switch (53). When a detection signal from this detector reaches a predetermined number of times within a predetermined period, a control unit (105) controls an engine (15) to stop.
