OVERSAMPLING ECHO CANCELLER Abstract of the Disclosure An echo canceller, for a digital transmission system using oversampled signals, comprises a memory for storing a plurality of digital words, each comprising an estimate of the echo corresponding to a unique address word. Each address word comprises a sequence of the input binary signal plus a number of bits representing the temporal position of each bit of said sequence in the corresponding bit period. The echo canceller also comprises a digital-to-analogue converter, means for subtracting the echo estimate from the input binary signal, and means for updating the contents of the memory. (i)
