Abstract of the Disclosure Disclosed is an overvoltage-protection device for semi-conductors circuits in telecommunication lines, especially semi-conductor coupling points. The device is inserted in a transmission line connected to the semi-conductor circuits and includes an ohmic resistance in series with the line. A gas- filled surge arrestor is connected across the line on the side of the resistance subject to overvoltage. A metal-oxide varistor is connected across the line on the other side of the resistance to limit the voltage in the semi-conductor circuit. The invention has the advantages of a low surge-voltage response and a very short ignition delay.
