ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A synthetic follicle stimulating hormone is described as made by construction of plasmid expression vectors for the expression purification in eukaryotic cells of high levels of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH). The synthetic FSH may be used in vivo as an effective substitute for the natural hormone. The DNA sequence for FSH is provided which is used in the construction of the suitable vectors and synthesis of the substantially pure FSH.
