Oxaliplatin with a low content of accompanying impurities originating from its preparation which contains, by weight, at most 0.01 %, preferably less than 0.001 %, of alkali metals, at most 0.0005 %, preferably less than 0.0002 %, of silver, and at most 0.01 %, preferably less than 0.001 %, of nitrates. A method for preparation of the said oxaliplatin resides in that a suspension of (SP-4-2)-dichloro-[(1R,2R) -1,2-cyclohexanediamine-N,N']platinum (II) in water is treated with silver nitrate, then, after removal of the solid phase, the obtained solution is treated with quaternary ammonium iodide of the formula (R)4NI, the separated solid phase is removed and the obtained solution is treated with oxalic acid, and the separated oxaliplatin is isolated, washed with water and a polar organic solvent or their mixture, dried, recrystallised from water, washed with water and polar organic solvent or their mixture, and dried.
L'invention a trait à un oxaliplatine présentant une faible teneur en impuretés issues de sa préparation. Ledit oxaliplatine contient : 0,01 % poids au plus, et de préférence moins de 0,001 % poids, de métaux alcalins ; 0,0005 % poids au plus, et de préférence moins de 0,0002 % poids, d'argent ; et 0,01 % poids au plus, et de préférence moins de 0,001 % poids, de nitrates. L'invention concerne aussi un procédé de préparation dudit oxaliplatine, qui consiste : à traiter, avec du nitrate d'argent, une suspension de (<I>SP</I>-4-2)-dichloro-[(1<I>R</I>,2<I>R</I>)-1,2-cyclohexanediamine-<I>N,N'</I>]platine (II) dans de l'eau ; puis, après avoir éliminé la phase solide, à traiter la solution obtenue avec de l'iodure d'ammonium quaternaire représenté par la formule (R)¿4?NI ; à éliminer la phase solide séparée, et à traiter la solution obtenue avec de l'acide oxalique ; puis à isoler l'oxaliplatine séparé, à le laver avec de l'eau et un solvant organique polaire ou un mélange de ces derniers ; à le sécher, et à le recristalliser à partir de l'eau ; à le laver avec de l'eau et un solvant organique polaire ou un mélange de ces derniers, et à le sécher.
