ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Suspended silids are removed from a WPPA feed by a process comprising the sequential steps of (a) adding excess oxidizing agent to the WPPA followed by (b) adding flocculating agent to the WPPA to flocculate the sus- pended solids and then separating the flocculated solids from the WPPA. Anionic flocculants are preferred. This process Is particularly effective when used to perferred a WPPA feed for an emulsion uranium extraction process.
