Organic compounds are removed from contaminated soil, ground water and the like by treatment with a combination of a water soluble peroxygen compound, such as sodium persulfate, and a pH modifier capable of maintaining a pH greater than about 10, such as a metal hydroxide.

On retire les composés organiques d~un sol contaminé ou d~une nappe phréatique contaminée etc, par traitement avec une combinaison de composé peroxygène soluble dans l~eau, comme le persulfate de sodium, et un modificateur de pH capable de maintenir un pH supérieur à environ 10, comme de l~hydroxyde de métal.
