ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A mixture of black liquor and white liquor is oxidized in the presence of wood to be pulped, so as to form a polysulfide pulping liquor which acts immediately upon the wood. The process allows increased yields of pulp with lower sulfidity levels and, thus, lessened pollution.
