Disclosed is a process which reduces the sulfur and/or nitrogen content of a distillate feedstock to produce a refinery transportation fuel or blending components for refinery transportation fuel, by contacting the feedstock with an oxygen-containing gas in an 5 oxidation/adsorption zone at oxidation conditions in the presence of an oxidation catalyst comprising a titanium- containing composition whereby the sulfur species are converted to sulfones and/or sulfoxides which are adsorbed onto the titanium-containing composition.
L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de réduire la teneur en soufre et/ou en azote dans une charge de distillat en vue de la production d'un carburant de transport de raffinerie ou de constituants de mélange pour carburant de transport de raffinerie, et consistant à mettre la charge en contact avec un gaz contenant de l'oxygène dans une zone d'oxydation/adsorption dans des conditions d'oxydation en présence d'un catalyseur d'oxydation renfermant une composition contenant du titane, les espèces sulfureuses étant converties en sulfones et/ou en sulfoxydes, lesquels sont adsorbés sur la composition contenant du titane.
