ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Polyurethane foams exhibiting excellent thermal and oxidative stability can be prepared using as the poly- merization or gel catalyst a composition containing 1) at least one organotin compound containing phosphorus, 2) at least one organotin compound wherein a halogen atom is bonded to tin or phosphorus and, optionally, 3) a mono- or dicarboxylic acid. The properties of foams prepared using the present catalyst compositions are superior to foams prepared using gel catalyst composition wherein tin, phos- phorus and a halogen are present but the phosphorus and halogen are not on the same molecule as a tin atom. The halogen-containing tin compound and the phosphorus-containing tin compound may be the same compound or different ones. The carboxylic acid can be present as a discrete component or as a reaction product of said acid and the phosphorus- and halogen-containing organotin compounds.
