Titanium dioxide carries an ester or a partial ester of an hydroxy compound containing 1 to 6 OH groups and an aliphatic saturated C10 to C22 monocarboxylic acid. The product is easily dispersible in plastics compositions, particularly masterbatches. The titanium dioxide can also be coated with one or more hydrous oxides. The product is prepared by milling the titanium dioxide in a fluid energy mill in the presence of the ester or partial ester.

Du dioxyde de titane transporte un ester ou un ester partiel d'un composé hydroxylé renfermant de 1 à 6 groupes OH et un acide aliphatique saturé monocarboxylique C10 à C22. Le produit est facilement dispersable dans des compositions de matières plastiques, notamment dans des mélanges mères. Le dioxyde de titane peut également être revêtu avec un ou plusieurs oxydes hydratés. Le produit est préparé par broyage du dioxyde de titane dans un broyeur à jet fluide, en présence d'un ester ou d'un ester partiel.
