31,667-00 OXIME DERIVATIVES OF FORMYL- PYRIDYL IMIDAZOLINONES, THE HERBICIDAL USE AND METHODS FOR THE PREPARATION THEREOF ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This disclosure describes new 5-oximio-2-(2- imidazolin-2-yl) pyridines having the following struc- ture: Image (I) wherein Y is hydrogen, C1-C4 branched or unbranched alkyl optionally substituted with C1-C4 alkoxy, C1-C4 alkylthiol, halogen, CO2R4, CN, NHCOR5, OCOR4, furyl or a phenyl group optionally substituted with one or two halogens, C1-C2 alkyl or nitro, C1-C4 alkenyl optional- ly substituted with halogen or C1-C4 alkoxy, or C1-C4 alkynyl: and Z is hydrogen or C1-C4 alkyl. The disclo- sure further describes the unique method of using the compounds as herbicidal agents and the methods for their preparation.
