ABSTRACT A process for forming polyesters with reduced yellow coloration wherein the polyester-forming monomers are dried in a vacuum before being reacted. The reaction system itself contains a substantially deoxygenated atmosphere. The removal of oxygen from the reactants and the reaction system leads to the lessening of yellow coloration of the polyester product.
