An improved oxygen scavenging composition and packaging container formed therefrom is disclosed. The container is suitable for storage of oxygen sensitive materials and has as part of its exposed interior surface a composition composed of a polymeric matrix with an oxygen scavenger and a substantially water-insoluble transition metal containing compound distributed therein.

On décrit une composition améliorée absorbant l'oxygène et un récipient d'emballage formé à partir de celle-ci. Ce récipient se prête à la conservation de substances sensibles à l'oxydation et il comprend, sur une partie de sa surface intérieure exposée, une composition comprenant une matrice polymère qui contient un absorbeur d'oxygène, ainsi qu'un composé contenant un métal de transition pratiquement non hydrosoluble.
