Methods of tailoring polyethylenes are contemplated utilizing 0.5 to 7.95 volume percent oxygen containing gases. The tailoring occurs in a melt- conveying zone of a mixer/extruder, and not in the feed or melting zones of a mixer/extruder. The effect of tailoring is to increase elasticity (G'/G") of the polyethylenes more than 10 percent over similar polyethylenes that are extruded/mixed in the substantial absence of oxygen or oxygen containing gases.
L'invention concerne des procédés de traitement individualisé de polyéthylènes qui reposent sur l'utilisation de gaz contenant entre 0,5 et 7,95 % d'oxygène en volume. Le traitement intervient dans une zone de transport en fusion de mélangeur/extrudeur, et non pas au niveau de l'alimentation des zones de fusion de ce mélangeur/extrudeur. Le but du traitement est d'augmenter l'élasticité (G'/G") des polyéthylènes de plus de 10 % par rapport à des polyéthylènes similaires extrudés/mélangés en l'absence substantielle d'oxygène ou de gaz contenant de l'oxygène.
