Brown stock is ozone bleached in aqueous medium containing between 3 and 7% based on the weight of the medium of a protector selected from the group comprising polyhydric alcohols, water soluble ethers of said polyhydric alcohols and mixtures thereof, and the medium, after bleaching, is separated from the bleached pulp and preferably delivered to the pulp mill recovery system.

On blanchit la pâte brune à l'ozone dans un milieu aqueux contenant entre 3 et 7 %, basé sur le poids du milieu, d'un protecteur choisi dans le groupe constitué par les alcools polyhydriques, les éthers hydrosolubles de ces alcools polyhydriques et leurs mélanges. Après blanchiment, on sépare le milieu de la pâte blanchie et, de préférence, on le dirige sur les installations de recyclage de la fabrique de pâte à papier.
