An ozone generating apparatus that includes two mutually opposed electrodes for generating a voltage discharge in response to applied high voltage. A dielectric is interposed between the electrodes to provide insulation. A gas supply mechanism is provided to supply an oxygen-containing gas between the electrodes to generate ozone by the voltage discharge. The apparatus further includes non-discharge portions comprising a pair of alternately combined combs disposed between the electrodes.
