ABSTRACT Disclosed is an improved electrode structure for ozone generation. The structure includes a dielectric substrate of aluminum oxide in the form of an alumina ceramic plate having first and second major opposed surfaces. A first surface has a central portion surrounded by a border region adjacent to which central portion is secured a conductive screen retained in support frames bonded to the substrate. The second major surface has a central portion, substantially corresponding to the central portion on-the first major surface, on which a layer of conductive material is intimately adhered, the layer being provided with an electrical contact. A dielectric layer preferably covers the layer of conductive material and its surrounding border but not the electrical contact. The dielectric layer may be polytetrafluoroethylene, polyester, glass or alumina ceramic. If glass is used, it may be made semiconductive by additives so that high-voltage transients may be dissipated between the screen and the conductive layer and the structure may be slightly heated.
