Ozone resistant vulcanizable copolymers of isoolefins with non-conjugated dienes of the general formula: (see fig. I) where R1 is (see fig II) ,(see fig III) or (see fig. IV) and R2 is alkyl of 1 to 6 carbon atoms and vulcanizates thereof. The copolymers are prepared by polymerization in the presence of Lewis acids.
