ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A procedure is disclosed for coating electrostatographic particles with a p-xylylene polymeric material. A cyclic di-p-xylylene dimer is sublimed to form a dimer vapor which is subsequently pyrolyzed to form vaporous p-xylylene diradicals. The vaporous diradicals are brought into contact with an agitated bed of the electrostatic particles at a temperature above 30°C., whereby the diradicals are polymerized to form a p-xylylene homopolymer coating on the electrostatographic particles. The particles so coated with p-xylylene polymers have been found to have an improved service life.
