The present invention provides a nucleic acid sequence encoding a melanoma antigen recognized by T lymphocytes, designated p15. This invention further relates to bioassays using the nucleic acid sequence, protein or antibodies of this invention to diagnose, assess or prognose a mammal afflicted with melanoma or metastata melanoma. This invention also provides immunogenic peptides derived from the p15 melanoma antigen and a second melanoma antigen designated tyrosinase. The proteins and peptides provided can serve as an immunogen or vaccine to prevent or treat melanoma.
L'invention concerne une séquence nucléotidique codant un antigène du mélanome reconnu par les lymphocytes T et appelé p15. Elle concerne, de plus, des techniques de dosage mettant en application la séquence nucléotidique, la protéine ou les anticorps objets de ladite invention, pour le diagnostic, l'évaluation ou le pronostic sur un mammifère atteint d'un mélanome ou d'un mélanoblastome. Elle concerne également des peptides immunogènes dérivés de l'antigène p15 du mélanome, ainsi qu'un deuxième antigène du mélanome appelé tyrosinase. Ces protéines et ces peptides peuvent servir d'immunogène ou de vaccin, pour la prévention ou le traitement du mélanome.
