The subject invention provides a vaccine composition comprising a mutant or wild-type p53 protein in a form that, when presented to the immune system of a mammal, induces an effective immune response, i.e., either on the surface of an antigen presenting cell or combined with a pharmaceutically acceptable adjuvant. Further, the subject invention provides a method of inhibiting the growth of tumors in mammals comprising treating a mammal with an immunologically effective amount of a vaccine comprising the mutant or wild-type p53 protein.
L'invention concerne une composition de vaccin comprenant une protéine p53 mutante ou de type sauvage sous une forme qui, lorsqu'elle est présentée au système immunitaire d'un mammifère, induit une réponse immunitaire efficace, c'est-à-dire soit à la surface d'une cellule présentant un antigène soit en combinaison avec un adjuvant pharmaceutiquement acceptable. L'invention se rapporte également à un procédé d'inhibition de la croissance des tumeurs chez le mammifère qui consiste à traiter un mammifère au moyen d'un vaccin immunologiquement acceptable contenant la protéine p53 mutante ou sauvage.
