ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A pacemaker pulse generator for providing impulses to stimulate living tissue by means of an electrode at the distal end of a conductive cath- eter is provided with a female connector with which a male connector on the catheter can be engaged to establish electrical connection. The femal con- nector is mounted in an epoxy material at one end of the pacemaker housing. In one embodiment the epoxy completely surrounds the female connector and a lead connecting this connector to an output terminal of the pacemaker itself, In another embodiment a silicone boot encompasses the epoxy material. The female connector has helically-extending tensioned metal strands along the bore for engagement with the male connector, The arrangement permits easy dis- connection and reconnection between the catheter and pacemaker unlike prior arrangements in which the manipulation of extremely small screws and seals, for example, was necessary.
