ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A nestable transport container, particularly of plastics material has a preferably rectangular bottom and outwardly inclined side walls which are integrally connected to and extend upwardly from the bottom. The upper edges of the side walls define a container opening. The transport container includes stacking flaps as well as cover halves for closing the container opening. The stacking flaps have border ledges, wherein the cover halves rest on the border ledges when the container opening is closed. In the closed state of the transport container, the upper surfaces of the cover halves are slightly lower than the stacking surfaces of the stacking flaps.
