ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A multi-unit package comprising a cellulosic tray with a group of articles in the tray and a flexible film sheet extending over the group of articles and overlapping the tray side walls where the film sheet has been first bonded to the outside of the tray side walls while leaving an unattached skirt portion between the first bond and the edge of the film sheet and where the unattached skirt portion has been heat bonded to the outside of the tray side walls subsequent to the first bond to cause the skirt portion to lie in juxtaposition with the outside of the tray side walls to enhance the effective transparency of the skirt portion. The method and apparatus for forming the package is also contemplated by the disclosure.
