A package (1) to be provided on and around a box-shaped container (2) having a flanged edge (3), manufactured from a material having resilient properties and an inherent stiffness and consisting of an open tubular element composed of at least three sidewall panels (4, 5) and these connecting corner panels (6) are each provided with a local recess (9) for letting through a part of the flanged edge (3), the arrangement being such that when a package (1) has been placed on the container (2), the parts of the flanged edge (3) that extend through a recess (9) project outside the outer circumference of the package (1) at least in the area around that recess (9). Optionally, such a package (1) can be provided by means of a tool (41) of tubular form capable of retaining an unfolded package (1) in its interior, which tool (41) with the package (1) secured therein is preferably slid around and on a container (2) from below.
Emballage (1) apte à se placer sur et autour d'un récipient parallélépipédique (2) présentant un élément périphérique saillant (3). L'emballage est en matériau élastique à raideur inhérente et constitué d'un élément tubulaire ouvert composé d'au moins trois panneaux formant paroi latérale (4, 5) et des panneaux corniers de liaison (6) dont chacun est pourvu d'une ouverture (9) permettant le passage d'une partie de l'élément saillant (3), la configuration étant elle que lorsque l'emballage (1) est mis en place sur le récipient (2), les parties de l'élément saillant (3) engagées dans les ouvertures (9) dépassent de la circonférence externe de l'emballage (1) au moins dans la zone voisine de chaque ouverture (9). Un emballage de ce type (1) peut éventuellement être formé à l'aide d'un outil (41) de forme tubulaire apte à contenir l'emballage (1) à l'état déplié. De préférence, on met en place l'emballage depuis le bas en faisant glisser ledit outil (41) contenant l'emballage (1) autour du récipient (2).
