The tampon overwrap removal force can be reduced by treating the overwrap, treating the tampon cover, applying a slip agent between the overwrap and tampon cover, and the like. This can reduce the shear force necessary to remove the tampon from its package to less than about 5 N after conditioning at 40 ~C / 75 % humidity for at least one week.
