The present invention provides a nail (10) suitable for sheathing which provides an enhanced resistance to failure. The nail (10) includes an enlarged head (20) as well as a shank (24) having surface deformations (28). Sheathing panels (40) are secured to a framing structure (42) through the use of the nail (10). The enlarged head (20) provides a first clamping surface that is seated against an exterior surface of the sheathing panel (40). The framing structure within which the shank is secured is a second clamping surface. Through the provision of an enlarged head and a shank having surface deformations, the ability of the nail to maintain the securement of the sheathing panel to the framing structure element is enhanced. A plurality of the nails are disposed within a package (100) suitable for use with mechanical drivers.
L'invention concerne un clou (10) approprié à un revêtement, qui présente une résistance améliorée à la rupture. Ledit clou (10) comprend une tête élargie (20) ainsi qu'une queue (24) présentant des déformations superficielles (28). Des panneaux de revêtement (40) sont fixés à une structure de charpente (42) au moyen du clou (10). Ladite tête élargie (20) prévoit une première surface de serrage qui est assise contre une surface extérieure dudit panneau de revêtement (40). Ladite structure de charpente dans laquelle la queue est fixée constitue une deuxième surface de serrage. Au moyen de la tête élargie et de la queue présentant des déformations superficielles, la capacité du clou à maintenir le panneau de revêtement avec la structure de charpente est améliorée. Une pluralité de clous sont disposés à l'intérieur d'un conditionnement (100) apte à être utilisé avec des dispositifs d'entraînement mécaniques.
