PACKAGED SOLID STATE PRIMARY SURGE PROTECTOR Abstract of the Disclosure A packaged solid state primary surge protector comprises two flat metal electrodes between which is sandwiched a semiconductor device. An annular synthetic resin sealing member extends round the periphery, adhered to both electrodes. The resin is flexible dielectric material, non-disruptive under the heat conditions of a surge through the device, and is environmentally inert. The electrodes are normally soldered to the opposite surfaces of the device. A preferred resin is the olefin acrylic co-polymer family. - i -
