ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method of manufacturing bags, and the bags manufactured by the method. The method comprises the steps of forming a web of thermoplastic material in the form of a tube, having a central portion and two ends doubled back over the central portion at a pair of fold lines. Terminal portions of the ends are folded back over the ends toward the first fold lines at a pair second fold lines, and a tear line is formed adjacent each second fold line. The web is heat sealed and severed transversely to define first pockets between the central portion and the ends, and second pockets between the ends and the terminal portions to define oppositely facing pairs of bags. The bags thus formed are stacked and heat sealed together.
