Abstract of the Disclosure A method of charging a container with a predetermined quantity of a fluent material includes the steps of connecting the container to a bulk supply of the material, applying a vacuum within the container at a predetermined pressure level and for a predetermined period of time determined by an electronic timer to draw a charge of material into the container, the quantity of said charge being determined as a function of said pressure level and said period, and vacuum purging surplus material from the connection between the container and the bulk supply on completion of a filling operation and before commencement of a succeeding filling operation. - 1 -
