A package of a strip material includes a plurality of stacks of the strip side by side where each strip forms a stacked fan folded supply of the strip which is spliced to or arranged so that it can be subsequently spliced to a next adjacent strip for supply of a continuous strip from the package. The side by side stacks are simultaneously built up from the bottom by moving a carriage back and forth below a stationary bottom surface of the stacks with the strips supplied side by side through a slot in the carriage. The stacks are supported side by side as they are built up by rigid side walls of a chute or of a box into which the package is to be packaged for transportation. The tails are supported or arranged so that they are ready for splicing when the package is completed and before transportation. The packaging materiai can be an evacuated bag or a rigid box. Transfer of the completed stacks is effected simultaneously by a slip sheet arrangement or by moving one of the belts of the carriage as an ejection belt.
L'invention concerne le conditionnement en chapelets d'un produit se présentant sous la forme d'une bande continue, ce conditionnement consistant notamment à former plusieurs piles placées côte à côte, chaque chapelet formant une partie de la bande empilée et pliée en accordéon, cette partie étant ensuite destinée à être raccordée ou disposée de sorte qu'elle peut être ultérieurement raccordée à une partie adjacente afin que ladite bande continue puisse être déroulée une fois le conditionnement effectué. On empile simultanément les piles placées cote à cote sur le fond en déplaçant d'avant en arrière un chariot situé en-deçà de la surface inférieure fixe de ces piles, les chapelets étant introduits cote à cote par l'intermédiaire d'une fente ménagée sur ce chariot. Ces piles reposent donc cote à cote, entourées par les parois latérales rigides d'une goulotte ou d'un boîtier destiné à contenir le conditionnement en chapelets en vue de son transport. Les pointes reposent ou sont placées de sorte qu'elles sont prêtes à être raccordées une fois le conditionnement achevé, avant son transport. Ce conditionnement peut se présenter sous la forme d'un sac sous vide ou d'une boite rigide, le transfert des piles construites étant effectué simultanément par un ensemble feuille de palettisation ou par déplacement de l'une des courroies du chariot, par exemple une courroie d'éjection.
