ABSTRACT OF DISCLOSURE A packaging element formable into a container having at least a base and sides perpendicular to the base which comprises at least one layer of stiff material lined on at least one side with a thin flexible material such as plastics. The thin flexible layer of material extends about the outer periphery of the stiff material and parts thereof are used as flaps to secure a container formed from the packaging element in an erected condition. Several embodiments of the packaging element are disclosed including elements formable into open containers and containers which include lids.
