A layered material such as a packaging laminate for a packaging container possessing superior oxygen gas and aroma barrier properties is disclosed. The packaging laminate comprises a first laminate unit (10a) and a second laminate unit (10b) which are bonded together by the intermediary of an interjacent layer of an adhesive (11). The first laminate unit has a rigid, but foldable core layer (12) and outer, surrounding layers (13; 14) of thermoplastic, and the second laminate unit has a flexible substrate or carrier lays (15) of thermoplastic which, on its surface, carries a layer (16) acting as an oxygen gas and aroma barrier and consisting of a silicon oxide deposited by chemical plasma deposition and having the general chemical formula SiO x, in which x may vary within the range of between 1.5 and 2.2. A flexible laminate having an SiO x barrier layer is also disclosed.
Matériau à plusieurs couches tel qu'un stratifié pour emballage, destiné à un élément d'emballage présentant des caractéristiques supérieures d'arrêt d'oxygène et d'arômes. Le stratifié comprend une première partie stratifiée (10a) et une seconde partie stratifiée (10b) qui sont collées ensemble par l'intermédiaire d'une couche adhésive intermédiaire (11). La première partie stratifiée comprend une couche centrale rigide mais pliable (12), ainsi que des couches thermoplastiques environnantes externes (13, 14) et la seconde partie stratifiée comprend une couche substrat ou de support thermoplastique et souple (15) qui comprend, sur sa surface, une couche (16) agissant comme élément d'arrêt d'oxygène et d'arômes, composée d'un oxyde de silicium appliqué par procédé de dépôt chimique au plasma et répondant à la formule générale SiOx, dans laquelle x peut varier entre 1,5 et 2,2. Un stratifié souple présentant une couche d'arrêt en SiOx est également décrit.
