ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A polymeric film is useful in packaging shredded cheese on form/fill/seal equipment. It has good hot seal and cold seal properties even in the presence of contamination in the seal areas of the package. It also has a low seal initiation temperature, toughness and abuse resistance. The film comprises a core layer comprising an oxygen barrier material; an internal polyamide layer disposed on each surface respectively of the core layer; a sealant layer having very low density polyethylene; an outer heat resistant layer; and an intermediate layer disposed between the internal polyamide layer and each of the sealant layer and outer layer respectively, and comprising a chemically modified polyolefin.
