2051646 9112996 PCTABS00007 A cartonless recyclable package (P) for protectively enclosing a product (C), such as photographic film (F), comprises a recyclable plastic container (10) and mating cap (18) with recyclably compatible plastic labels (26, 32, 38) thereon bearing product information. One such label (26) on the cap (18) has readily tearable tab portions (28) extending therefrom and tautly secured to the container (10), to tear apart when the cap (18) is first removed. A second label (32), secured to the container (10) and overlapping the tearable tab portions (28), includes inner and outer sheets (34, 36) separably adhered together. The outer sheet (36) can be peeled back to reveal information on the interfacing surfaces (34o, 36i) of both sheets (34, 36), and then re-adhered to the inner sheet (34). A third label (38), separably adhered to the first label (26) on the cap (18), may be peeled away and re-adhered to some other surface for reference after the product (C) has been removed. A thumb tab (24) on the cap (18), to facilitate cap (18) removal, is used also to orient the container (10) and cap (18) for appropriate placement of the labels (26, 32, 38), and to orient the resulting package (P) in a cooperating displaying and dispensing device (D). That device (D) comprises an upstanding, open-ended, transparent, tubular chute (50) having a longitudinal slot (58) extending down a rear side thereof and configured to receive the package (P) through its open top end (52), with the thumb tab (24) projecting rearwardly (d1) through the slot (58), thereby orienting the package labels (26, 32, 38) to face forwardly (d2) in a desired display direction (dd). The package (P) is gravity-fed to the open bottom end (54), where it (P) is supported (78) and oriented for convenient removal.
