A packet (B; B1) is provided for a tobacco product, the packet (B; B1) comprising: a container portion (1) having a top surface (35; 10) which has an opening (16) for providing access to inside the container portion (1). A lid (12) is hingedly attached to the container portion (1). The lid (12) is operable to cover the opening (16) when the lid (12) is in a closed position. In an open position the lid (12) is substantially coplanar with the top surface (35; 10). A web of panels (Q; Q1) is attached to the lid (12). When the lid (12) is closed the web of panels folds and is substantially wholly contained between the lid (12) and the top surface (35; 10) and when the lid (12) is open the web of panels (Q; Q1) unfolds and is substantially coplanar with the lid (12) and the top surface (35; 10).
