ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In packing elements in the form of a ring, it is known to have the side surface thereof comprise a plurality of openings each being in the shape of an isosceles triangle, and formed by bending the triangular portion of said side surface inwardly along the base of the triangle. Alternate portions are bent upwardly, with the others being bent downwardly. In this invention, the vertices of all of said portions are connected with each other by means of a polygonal disc. The disc has at least one opening, preferably circular in shape.
