PAGING APPARATUS HAVING A BATTERY SAVING FUNCTION ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A paging apparatus having a battery saving func- tion comprises a power supply to a radio circuit and a power supply control circuit. Power is turned on periodically in synchronization with the detection of synchronization signals and is turned off responsive to the detection of a predetermined sequence. The power supply to the radio circuit remains turned off without being turned on periodically for a predeter- mined time period in response to the detection of a specific code addressed to the paging apparatus.
