ABSTRACT A device is described which simulates a fragmentation grenade without the use of pyrotechnics. A container body, partially filled with paint is provided, said container body is equipped with a plunger protruding externally. Depressing the plunger begins a chemical re- eaction which creates a gas within the container. Said gas pressure within container builds until container explodes creating a loud noise and propelling paint in all directions, the paint droplets being expelled from container simulating grenade fragments and being usefull for subsequent determination of points of impact. This de- vice is usefull in paintball wargames or in any situation where combat is simulated.
