66530-451 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Oversprayed paint particles in a paint spray booth are received in a sump by an oil-in-water emulsion comprising an organic liquid, an emulsifier and water. Build up of paint solids in the emulsion is allowed to continue until at least 5 parts by weight of paint solids have been received by the emulsion for every 100 parts by weight of organic liquid in the emulsion. After the amount of paint solids has reached at least 5 parts by weight, preferably at least 10 parts by weight, the paint solids are removed from the emulsion. The removed paint solids can be used as a fuel.
