A paint roller has a plastic bearing bow (1) made of a single piece with a handle (2) and a paint roller which can be rotatively mounted at the front end of the bearing bow. The bearing bow has stiffening elements (5, 8) which extend at least partially over its length in the transverse direction and which are linked to each other by a longitudinal reinforcing brace (5, 9).
