An attachment for fitting into the chuck of a hand-held power drill adaptable to clasp either a paint brush or a dismounted paint roller, or to engage the attachment's gripping means to the paint handle's roller cage inset end cap, with paint roller axially held thereon, for spinning and cleaning by centrifugal force. The attachment is resiliently flexible, and is made of a generally hollow plastic part and is provided with a spindle. The attachment includes namely: a generally flathead member with a generally cylindrical neck member extending therefrom, a generally conical upper body portion flared outwardly to a generally cylindrical lower body extension of the character described, and a distal end receiving mouth for a brush handle. Furthermore, the body includes a crosswith, substantially recessed section forming a radially outwardly deflectable housing portion outwardly deflectable upon engagement of the surface of a brush handle inserted therethrough. The radially-outwardly deflectable portion projects inward of the hollow in a crosswise, circular arrangement to provide a flexible narrowed throat passage which generally dilates so as to automatically expand outwardly upon receiving therethrough brush handles of varied cross-sectional shapes and varied sizes, and which afterwards, automatically reflexes to it's maximum retracted form when the brush handle is removed, so that the attachment is ready for re-use. In the second embodiment the generally cylindrical outer surface of the lower body extension is in it's form, of a length and a width sufficient enough to provide a compressive grip upon the bore or core of a dismounted cylindrical paint roller for cleaning of the same. In another embodiment, the attachment is further provided with a soft, firm neck band secured crosswise around the neck member to provide the gripping means to engage the neck band's outer periphery with the surface of the inset end cap of the paint handle's axially held roller cage so as to spin the mounted paint roller thereon.

En outre, le corps de l'accessoire comporte une partie essentiellement en retrait formant un logement radial qui fléchit vers l'extérieur lorsqu'on y insère le manche d'une brosse. Ce logement se prolonge transversalement vers l'intérieur de la partie creuse du corps de manière à former un passage circulaire rétrécissant qui se dilate automatiquement vers l'extérieur lorsqu'on y insère les manches de pinceaux ayant des sections de différentes formes et de différentes dimensions. Une fois que le manche est retiré, le logement reprend automatiquement sa forme compacte et est prêt à être réutilisé. Dans une seconde version, la surface externe cylindrique de la partie inférieure rallongée du corps est de longueur et de largeur suffisante pour assurer la préhension de l'ouverture ou du corps d'un rouleau à peindre sans manche. Dans une autre version, l'accessoire comprend un manchon rigide et flexible, fixé transversalement autour du cou afin de former une prise permettant de fixer la périphérie externe du manchon avec la surface du capuchon d'extrémité du manche du rouleau en position axiale afin de faire tourner le rouleau fixé sur son manche.
