A paint tray holder comprising a clamping assembly and a tray assembly. The clamping assembly fixes the holder onto the side of a ladder while the front plate and attachment means support a tray assembly of the type for holding paint while painting. The paint tray holder may be used on the left or right side of a ladder and the angle at which the tray asssembly is withrespect to the clamping assembly can be adjusted.
